On Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 thousands of spectators can enjoy exceptional rowing competition in the final regatta of the 2011 season in Philadelphia.
"National research reveals that when a sampling of people from all 50 states are asked to say what word comes to mind when they hear 'Philadelphia,' the most common response is 'cheesesteaks.' Second: 'The Liberty Bell.' Third: 'Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.'"
~ Clifford Pearlman
The Schuylkill River is within walking distance to many of the city's charming neighborhoods and off site parking. Free continuous shuttle buses will take spectators to sites along the 2.5-mile racecourse.
The Vendor/Festival tent is the center of activity and will be located at the Three Angels Statues…at the main launching site for out-of-town crews.
Where to watch
The best place to watch your favorite crew and enjoy the fun is at the Three Angels Statues, the site of our regatta festival featuring our favorite vendors, food, music, games, awards ceremonies and lots of fun. You can also buy great rowing and workout gear and the Official Head of the Schuylkill program book and T-shirts! Bring the kids, for fun and food and great racing.
The Three Angels Statues are just one mile north of Boathouse Row on Kelly Drive…a very walkable distance from Center City…and yes, there will be plenty of port-a-potties.

If you come for the regatta plan some time to enjoy Philadelphia!
Philadelphia offers one of America's favorite regattas and so much more. It has just been named one of the top cities to shop (within walking distance of the regatta) and has museums and other cultural institutions that are too great to miss (also within walking distance). If you're looking at colleges, there are more than 28 in Philadelphia alone.
You can visit a different restaurant each night and sample some of the best food in the U.S.
