The fall is a beautiful time to visit Philadelphia! Before or after you cross the finish line make time to explore our restaurants, exciting museums, entertainment venues and the many things to do. Bring your family and friends to cheer you on and stay the weekend and plan some non-rowing fun. Find the latest information on how to get here, how to get around and all about the many exciting things to do at visitphilly.com. Find Visit Philly on Facebook, Twitter and You Tube. And see uwishunu.com, a blog about all of the great things you wish to know about Philadelphia.
Philadelphia offers a spectacular fall head racing venue. You know that if you are a returning competitor.
What you may not know about are the many exceptional entertainment, cultural and dining opportunities unique to our city. For rowers with families. For 20 and 30 something singles. For high school and college crews.
We encourage you to add some of these non-rowing experiences to your visit, and to extend your visit to include a Friday or Sunday night stay. For answers to your questions about these opportunities, visit www.visitphilly.com. You also are welcome to email questions to travel@hosrregatta.org; they will be answered promptly by the writer of these pieces, a perennial competitor. We will be adding pieces regularly in the months leading up to the Regatta.
Be sure to plan your trip to Philadelphia for the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta and take time to explore Philadelphia’s neighborhoods.
The Greater Philadelphia Tourism & Marketing Corp.’s Philadelphia Neighborhoods campaign spotlights 14 of the visitor-ready areas that surround Center City. In these outrageously cool ’hoods, you can explore the storied streets, buzzed-about restaurants, craft beer-centric bars, emerging art galleries, indie shops, intimate music venues, plentiful parks and annual festivals. Come for the Regatta…but make it a special weekend!
Many thanks to Judy Hasday, Susan Cohen and Michael Murphy for all the photography they generously supplied for our web site.
